Sticks & Stones – Roots & Bones: Exploring the Power of Words in a Polarized World

As part of his PhD dissertation work, Don Shafer has created a new podcast series that explores the power of words in a polarized world by looking at the psychological, cultural, and emotional components of these conversational ecosystems to gain insight and improve on existing knowledge of how we engage with each other.

As an award-winning broadcaster and journalist, Don is no stranger to podcasts or interviewing. He’s hosted The Conversation Lab at CRFO FM Vancouver community radio station for the past 5 years and before that was on air programmed or managed iconic radio stations across Canada such as Roundhouse Radio, CFOX FM, Rock 101, CHUM FM and many others. The Conversation Lab currently airs on over a dozen campus and community radio stations across Canada.

Sticks & Stones – Roots & Bones features fascinating conversations with activists, academics, and change-makers from around the world to help us learn how to navigate difficult conversations. Take a listen!
