Members of the institute are engaged in theoretical and empirical work that contributes to advancing current knowledge and relevant dialogues around culture, politics and public policy in local, global and transnational contexts.
Our award-winning faculty and faculty associates have areas of expertise in gender and development, critical studies in sexuality, decolonizing and post-colonial methodologies, race, gender and cultural studies, critical race theory, gender and Canadian history and literature (in English and French), transgender studies, gender issues in health, and feminist legal studies.
Our graduate programs aim to maintain flexibility to accommodate individual needs. Our thematic research network at the institute also provides you with opportunities for participation in funded research and scholarly events.
