GRSJ Assistant Professor Christopher Patterson’s new book Open World Empire: Race, Erotics, and the Global Rise of Video Games published by NYU Press seeks ways to understand video games beyond their imperial logics, by turning to erotics to re-invigorate the potential passions and pleasures of play.
