Academics, researchers and rock music enthusiasts will all come together to present original research that provides a critical perspective about the trajectory of Peruvian rock as an aesthetic manifestation, consumer product, counterculture, way of life, social phenomenon, etc. This first interdisciplinary congress aims to foster dialogue between these different visions, as well as to deepen and add rigor to existing studies.
The event was made possible by support from UBC’s Latin American Landscapes PhD Student Research and Mobility Fund as well as The Rock Peru Research Network (RedIRP) and the Faculty of Contemporary Arts of the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences (UPC)
The Congress will host two keynote lectures featuring leading specialists on rock in South America.
