Teaching
Research
Marsha’s research concentration is unearthing the logics of colonialism that become embedded in the quotidian as ‘natural’ or ‘just the way things are’ and showing how these continue to replicate various harms for Black women and girls in particular but also Black communities in general. Marsha’s research is transdisciplinary and includes conversations across, beyond and without politics, history, sociology, gender and sexuality studies, philosophy as praxis and third world development studies. She is also passionate about Caribbean intellectual traditions and the lessons that they hold for changing the approaches, intentions and methodologies underpinning western intellectual practices.
