Doctoral student Wajiha Mehdi has been selected as the winner of the 2018 Nehru Humanitarian Graduate Scholarship in Indian Studies. The award is given to the graduate student judged to have the most promising research program related to South Asia. Wajiha will be accepting this award and presenting her research at an award ceremony scheduled to be held on November 9th. The annual $1,000 scholarship is offered by Dr. and Mrs. D. P. Goel to a graduate student pursuing the political, historical, economic, religious, social, or cultural study of India. The award is made on the recommendation of the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, in accordance with findings of the Adjudication Committee of the Centre for India and South Asia Research.
