GRSJ Faculty Associate Farah Shroff Appointed to Vancouver Coastal Health Authority Board



Congratulations to GRSJ Faculty Associate Dr. Farah Shroff on her appointment to the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority (VCH) Board of Directors.

The board of directors is responsible for setting VCH’s Vision, Values, Pillars, and the strategic direction of the organization.

Dr. Farah Shroff is a public health professional with expertise in international health policy, and an Associate of the University of British Columbia Department of Family Practice, and the School of Population and Public Health.

Her global public health research and education is dedicated to creating Health for All on a Healthy Planet; she founded and leads Maternal and Infant Health Canada, a global public health collaborative. As a planner, evaluator and researcher, Dr. Shroff has collaborated with various governments in Canada and around the world. Recently, Dr. Shroff’s contributions to global public health were recognized by the Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health, which awarded her the prestigious mid-career Takemi Fellowship in International Health.

As a young researcher, Dr. Shroff was active in the early days of the BC Centre of Excellence in Women’s Health, one of 5 centres across the country funded by Health Canada. She is on the board of the Harvard Health Lab and Expert at the Harvard Innovation Lab. An independent consultant and faculty member at the University of British Columbia, she also teaches yoga, dance, meditation, and other mind-body activities that promote holistic well-being.
