Dr. Anika Tilland-Stafford’s research focuses on children and gender justice and spans sociological and historical methods. Her book, Is it Still a Boy? Heteronormativity in Kindergarten, is forthcoming with UBC Press. Dr. Stafford completed her SSHRC funded PhD with the Institute for Gender, Race, Sexuality, and Social Justice at the University of British Columbia and was subsequently awarded a SSHRC postdoctoral fellowship for which she took up research on gender, sexuality, and children’s recreational programming in BC during the Cold War era.
