Faculty of Arts professors, Ayesha S. Chaudhry and Rumee Ahmed are both scholars of Islamic studies at UBC. They have each been awarded competitive international academic fellowships: Dr. Chaudhry at Harvard University’s Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study and Dr. Ahmed at Stanford University’s Humanities Centre. As life partners whose research builds on their shared conversations, they hope to contribute to an improved religious literacy through their upcoming book projects. We caught up with them for coffee just prior to their departure for their U.S. fellowships.
